Stress hormone or cortisol levels that remain high due to excessive stimulation throughout the day trigger the emergence of anxiety and deep worry at night in Jakarta. This phenomenon puts the nervous system in alert mode even though the real threat has ended, as reported by Medcom. This condition causes a person to feel restless, have difficulty relaxing, and experience great obstacles to start sleeping even though the physical condition is very tired. In addition to hormonal factors, the brain that is overactive during the day due to exposure to notifications, work deadlines, and social media is also the main cause. The founder and Director of Gateway of Healing, Dr. Chandni Tugnait explained that these psychological complaints are not an indicator of personal weakness or just a problem of ordinary sleep disorders. The body’s response after a day of facing emotional stress is the main trigger for this anxiety. “For many people, night is not a time of rest, but rather a moment when the body and mind begin to process things that have been neglected throughout the day,” says Chandni, Founder and Director of Gateway of Healing. When the night becomes quiet and activities decrease, various emotions and problems that were previously delayed due to busyness will resurface more intensely. This condition then triggers the arrival of prolonged overthinking that damages the quality of daily sleep. To overcome these problems, treatment can be done through the formation of a consistent sleep routine such as limiting the use of gadgets, writing a journal, reading books, stretching, or listening to quiet music. Consultation with professionals is highly recommended if this anxiety occurs continuously and begins to interfere with daily activities.
