A new digital platform has been launched in India to help young people understand modern dating. Called School of Swipe, it is designed as an online resource for anyone who wants support while creating a profile, reading signals, or deciding how to move a conversation offline. It aims to offer clear guidance at a time when many young Indians already look to the internet for advice about relationships and communication. The platform has been shaped through insights from youth organisation Yuvaa, relationship expert Dr Chandni Tugnait, and the real experiences of young daters across the country. It reflects how many people now meet, talk, and build connections both online and in person, often without any formal guidance.
“At Tinder, we’re constantly reimagining what safe and social dating looks like for every new generation of singles. With resources like School of Swipe™ and features such as Double Date, we’re making it easy, fun, and low-pressure for people to connect with confidence and define what they want, without judgment. Exploration is what makes Tinder different; every time you open the app, there’s a chance to meet someone new, learn something unexpected, or even discover a new side of yourself. Through School of Swipe, our goal is to help young daters approach every match and every moment with mindfulness, safety, and self-assurance,” says Aditi Shorewal, Communications Lead, Tinder India and Korea. Early surveys show that many young Indians value emotional well-being, meaningful conversations, and slower pacing in dating. However, some still find emotional intimacy or managing feelings difficult. Many turn to humor, movement, friends, or therapy for support.
Offline interactions gathered by Yuvaa also suggest a growing focus on self-awareness, self-care, and healthy boundaries among young daters. The launch hopes to make dating feel more informed, calm, and accessible for those beginning their journey.
